The Case for a Spiritual Environmentalism
This is the thesis paper I created for receipt of a Masters of Environmental Studies - out of Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont.
The first focus of the paper is on research evidence that shows how nature heals physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Then I discuss literary, philosophical and popular support for the concept of valuing nature based upon its spiritual and aesthetic qualities. Finally, there's a brief review of what some traditional religious institutions have to say about spirit and nature.
