The Southeast Asia Regional Cooperation in Human Development (SEARCH) Project is a six-year regional human rights and rule of law program implemented in seven Southeast Asian countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam, supported by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

The goal of the project is to promote and uphold the rule of law in Southeast Asia. Its specific objective is to improve the legal and institutional mechanisms for the promotion and protection of the rights of children, ethnic minorities and migrant workers in the Southeast Asia region. Through its implementation SEARCH contributions will result in:

• Improved capacity of selected organizations to promote the human resources of the targeted disadvantaged groups and influence policy makers;
• Increased effectiveness and sustainability of regional networks and partnerships in addressing the human rights issues related to the three target groups;
• Improved legislation and policy development for the provision of legal/judicial services as applied to the three target groups; and
• Increased access to services and protection by law for children, ethnic minorities and migrant workers.
