Interfaith Gathering, 21 September 2009

The Committee of Religious NGOs joined with the Office of the Chaplaincy, Religions for Peace and NY Interfaith Power & Light, in cooperation with the Global Campaign for Climate Action (GCCA)
to organize an Interfaith Gathering on 21 September, the UN International Day of Peace, at the chapel of the Church Center for the United Nations, from 9:00-10:30 a.m.

A "RELIGIOUS TRADITIONS CALL TO CLIMATE ACTION" was distributed, as dignitaries from various faith traditions called on leaders to take strong measures to address climate change. Prayers by clergy and moving testimony from climate witnesses were presented, along with sacred music and a moving slide presentation. Refreshments were served.
