Lila was privilliged to be invited to do a test with a group of students at The Royal Academy of Arts - School of Architecture, institute for Design and Communication to lay the ground for a future partnership where Lila would be profiled as the tool of choice for combining digital presentations, Student portfolios and online presence.
November 27th 2008, we presented Lila to a group of students half way through a three week course where they did an architectural assignment while learning the software tools - including 3ds Max, Adobe Illustrator and Indesign, Google Sketchup etc.
Lila was used to map the progress of the students during this course. A kind of journal for the students to describe the process that they went through. The common goal for Lila and the School was to get the students to use it as a digital presentation tool for their course-progress and end up with at least three great presentations.
We wanted to see first movers from our primary target group to work with the system and collect feedback to use in the development of the system. For this to happen we made a little competition with prizes for the best three spaces and made ourselves available as tutors to the students.
Despite there being issues with the system in a variety of ways it being not even a Beta Test – we ended up with a group of enthusiastic students that did some really kick ass presentations. We learned a lot and they were proud to be involved, we were amazed by their enthusiasm – their teachers were like: “what is this thing you are using for your work and presentation? I want it!”
… And best of all, Lars – the head of the institute, was really happy with the process and results and he eagerly invited us back for the next course in March. All in all we could not have hoped for anything better!
