9-11 Poems
1.
sun up
glorious summer light
wild knife in sky
fiery scream rips through top
stare at smoke
watched two monuments together fall
death of thousands in
glass metal shard concrete crash
run fast from this madness
blood black surreal day
symbol of power gone
waste
repulsive
2.
scream frantic shake
take away bold icons
never imagined it
angry cry sad ache
3.
no drugs no trips
it is true
empty
please tell me why
4.
after after after
beneath a deep mess
we live with raw pain
no sleep
demand capture and death
for those who did it
smear them all out
like for like
soon
yet are we like they?
shadows appear
stop our ugly passions
free us from bitter urges
suffering is here and there alike
vision is essential
let not the moment go
ask why ask angels for balance
there is a gift here
5.
Life robbed enormous scale,
makes no sense to me
Hear what I say:
if only I could
I would give an arm and a leg
to leave this delirious stormy time behind.
Life is hard, though it is gorgeous too.
Can I recall my original dreams of harmony and joy?
Or will be absurd miasma flood me?
The old meanings are dead.
I create an elaborate breakthrough.
Come with me:
head into the black rocky places
to seeing luscious spring music.
Somehow the void feels fall.
