FALA Flagstaff: About
FALA is a tuition-free public charter high school located in Flagstaff, Arizona. Founded in 1996 in response to the elimination of Arts programs in public schools, FALA adopted the philospohy that:
"arts education is a basic ncessity, not a mere cultural frill."
This quote is ascribed to Mary Russell-Ferell Colton, founder of the Museum of Northern Arizona, and curator of art and ethnology from 1928 to 1948.

FALA is a partner with both the Museum of Northern Arizona and The Peaks Assisted Living facility next door. These partnerships develop in students a 'sense of place' on the Colorado Plateau and an intergenerational connection with elders in our community.
