The Globe & Mail - The Earth is hotter than ever, global warming is real: Researchers - http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/the-earth-is-hotter-than-ever-global-warming-is-real-researchers/article1655436/
I don't know what is more disturbing - the biosphere is warming or the science is being attacked. Unfortunately the latter helps stall any meaningful action on the former. And to those who argue that the world has been warm before - no kidding. The problem is that the biosphere has been relatively stable over the past 10,000 years or so. Any major and quick shift in climate will upset the balance, affecting water, agriculture, coastal communities, and biodiversity to name a few. Who has the most to lose in transitioning to a low carbon economy? Fossil fuel companies. They've convinced US Senators to scrap any real progress on greenhouse gas mitigation (yes that's what currently warming the planet). Big oil and coal help fund Senators' campaigns during elections. So much for 'We the People'. They also pay PR companies to spread doubt about the cause of current global warming. And boy, are some people ever falling for it.
