“And the two main researchers heading up the $35-million project say one of their first tasks is to deal with those who claim man-made climate change is a bunch of hooey.”

I wonder how the researchers are going to manage dealing with the deniers. It doesn't matter that the evidence is overwhelming, deniers simply will not budge in their conviction that either climate change isn't happening (even though the arctic ice is melting, etc.), or that it isn't caused by the trillion barrels of oil and other fossil fuels that humans burned over the past two centuries.

The real challenge is to demonstrate to the majority of people who don't think much on the issue that the scientific finding are compelling, clear and require immediate action. News media must play a more active role in communicating the science to the public.
