Great article. The fossil fuel industry is using the same tactics used by the tobacco industry to convince people that smoking is not dangerous to their health. It's great to see journalists such as Graham Thomson cut through the denier nonsense. Independent panels have declared no foul play at the climate unit at East Anglia, but it sure didn’t receive the same attention when foul play was suspected. Why is that?

The whole affair is even more absurd given that climate change is already happening. The pine beetle is decimating the pine forest in BC and Alberta because it hasn't been cold enough since the 1980s to kill off the beetle and Alberta is undergoing a water shortage due to melting glaciers, evaporation and the thirsty tar sands. I'm all for reducing energy waste by retrofitting homes and buildings (creating work for Albertans), putting solar panels and wind turbines on any place suitable for them (again more jobs), and investing in a smart grid. Albertans are energy innovators. More focus needs to be made in the clean tech sector.
