Response to cbc.ca - Duchess in Montreal to fight climate change - http://www.cbc.ca/canada/montreal/story/2010/04/20/mtl-ferguson-millenium-summit.html#socialcomments-submit

It's great to hear that Sarah Ferguson is lending her voice on climate change awareness. The more the merrier. I just attended a talk where women from Uganda, the Cook Islands, New Guinea and even Mississippi spoke about how climate change is directly impacting them. In their lifetimes they are seeing altering droughts and floods (Uganda), more violent storms and loss of fish (Cook Islands), and rising sea levels and disappearing islands (New Guinea). NGOs that deal with global poverty such as Oxfam are calling for action to slow down climate change because they understand how it's affecting people in already high-risk areas. If Sarah Ferguson is concerned about foster care, air pollution and Indian elephants, it make sense that she is concerned about climate change.
