Utah Democrats continue long history of support for ethics reform

Utah Democrats held a press conference today (December 15, 2008) reiterating their strong support for ethics reform on Utah's Capitol Hill.  While Republicans continued their tradition of meeting behind closed doors to discuss issues like ethics and massive budget cuts, Utah Democrats held a press conference reminding voters Republicans have historically been a roadblock to ethics reform proposals offered by Democratic lawmakers. 

House minoirty whip-elect Jim Gowans stated the Democrats continue to support for limiting personal use of campaign funds, a ban on lobbyist gifts to lawmakers, a one year moratorium before an outgoing lawmaker could become a paid lobbyist and an independent ethics commission.
