After 15 years offering internships to more than 185 students to work on the local, state, and federal campaigns of Utah’s Democratic candidates, the Karen Shepherd Internship Program is closing its doors. As of July 1, 2011, there will be no more internships offered.

Thanks to the many candidates from all corners of the state who received Shepherd interns and mentored them as they worked on campaigns through the years; and to the universities, colleges, and high schools who supported our interns by giving them class credit.

Our goal was to build expertise and leadership skills within Utah's Democratic Party and to help the best Democratic candidates win their elections. We hope we succeeded.
