OUR MISSION

We believe it is our responsibility as citizens of
the earth to be concerned about the environment,
sustainability, and population. Furthermore,
we place special value on the unique
heritage and landscape of the state of Utah.

What WE Do

UPEC is a growing coalition of Utahns concerned
about population growth and unsustainable
consumption in Utah, the United States,
and the World. As a coalition we work in the
community to raise awareness about the
consequences of unchecked population growth
and unsustainable consumption.

We develop special studies and research projects. Check out "Vital Signs" and the other lower menu options. The Genuine Progress Indicator study is well underway and will be released early in 2011. Get an update on our main site, lower menu option.

In spring 2005 UPEC became a membership organization. UPEC is a program component of the Wellness Health and Lifestyle Education (WHALE) Center, a 501(c)(3) organization.
