Adopt-A-Landmine/N1KD

The Adopt-A-Landmine program is administered by the United Nations Association of the USA. The most recent goal of the Utahproject was to raise $120,000 to fund a de-mining team in Afghanistan for one year.

Working closely with the Gandhi Alliance for Peace, the United Nations Association of Utah has helped raise over $150,000 for de-mining programs under the Adopt-A-Landmine program. One example: in 1999 we raised enough funds to de-mine an entire field and to help de-mine two other fields in ethnic areas of Bosnia.Among other immediately positive results, we cleared a path for electrical workers to fix power lines that otherwise delivered erratic service to residents at best.

The Utah Adopt-A-Minefield web site is a project of The Gandhi Alliance for Peace (GAP), a not-for-profit organization working to promote world peace.

Join tens of thousands of people around the world who will gather with friends, family, neighbors and colleagues to share a meal and make the world a safer place. Host a dinner!
