Where to Donate

Use this page to list YOUR recommendations for where to donate to the Haiti Relief effort.

Below are national options.

  • Donate $$ via text message: Donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund (Wyclef Jean’s Foundation) by texting “Yele” to 501501 (the amount will be charged to your cell phone bill) or visit www.Yele.org and click “Donate.”
     
  • Donate $10 through the U.S. Dept. of State:  text “HAITI” to “90999″ and $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross, charged to your cell phone bill.  Or call (800) RED-CROSS.

Donate $$ via the Internet or US Mail:

1. Save the Children. Donate at savethechildren.org or make checks out to “Save the Children” and mail to: Save the Children Income Processing Department, 54 Wilton Road, Westport, Conn. 06880
 
2. UNICEF. Go online to  unicefusa.org/haitiquake (site may load slowly) or call (800) 4UNICEF.
 
 
4. Mercy Corp. Go online to mercycorps.org or mail checks to Haiti Earthquake Fund, Dept. NR, PO Box 2669, Portland, Ore. 97208 or call (888) 256-1900
 
5. American Red Cross. Donate online at
american.redcross.org or sent donations by mail to American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013 or your local American Red Cross chapter.
 
6. Operation USA. 
Donate online at www.opusa.org, by phone at 1.800.678.7255 or, by check made out to Operation USA, 3617 Hayden Ave, Suite A, Culver City, CA 90232.
 
 
8. Partners in Health. Donate online at donate.pih.org.
 
9. Mercy Corps. Donate online at donate.mercycorps.org.
 
10. Doctors Without Borders. Support their earthquake relief efforts by making an online donation at donate.doctorswithoutborders.org.
 
11. Direct Relief International. The organization has pledged up to $1 million in aid. Contribute here.
 
12. Oxfam America. Donate online here.
 
13. World Food Programme. They are working to provide food assistance to the earthquake victims. Donate here to help.
 
14. Catholic Relief Services. Donate online at www.crs.org, mail a check to Catholic Relief Services P.O. Box 17090 Baltimore, MD 21203-7090, or call 1-800-736-3467.
 
15. American Jewish World Service. Donate to their Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund online
