How to Copy VHS to DVD

Here's two simple methods:

1. The first method is using this VCR/DVD combo.  Most have a one button record/dub mode,  which     will start copying your VHS tape over to DVD.

2.The second method is to hook up a VCR to a DVD recorder with audio video cables.

This is the back of a VCR

Use these typical  audio video cables to connect the VCR to your DVD recorder.

STEP 1:  Plug the cables into the yellow, white, and red output jacks on the back of the VCR.

yellow = video           white = left audio           red = right audio

STEP 2:   Plug the other end of the cables into the back of the DVD recorder.

Plug them into input 1, matching colors.

STEP 3:  Now,  in order to allow the DVD recorder to read the signal from the VCR,  you'll need to              change the DVD recorder to input 1.

There are two ways to do this.

Which way you use depends on your remote control.

Look first to see if your remote control has an input button

(shown by the green arrow in the image below).

If it does,  press it until input 1 appears on your screen.

If your remote doesn't have an input button,  then use the channel up and down button

(shown by the blue arrow in the image below).

Press the channel up and down button until input 1 appears on your screen.

All remotes will have a channel up and down button.

The remote shown below has an input button as well.

The input button tends to be faster,  but you can use either one.

ATTENTION!!  Some DVD recorders refer to "input" as "video".  In this case,  you will be looking for "video 1" instead of "input 1" as previously mentioned.

STEP  4:  Short and simple, press play on VCR, then press record on the DVD recorder.

                Now your making DVDs.
