   All to often in this world we find ourselves witnessing gross injustices and abuse. And how do we deal with it? We try our best to ignore it. Even when it occur right in front of us in the form of child and spouse abuse, in the streets we turn a blind eye to the elderly and the weak as they suffer at the hands of bullies and thugs. Even among the police force there has grown a large number of officers who believe and act as if they are above the law committing crime and abuses against those they are hired to protect.                          

   As followers of Christ aren't we obligated to come to the aide of our brothers and sisters? Isn't this the lesson of the good Samaritan? Why are we so afraid to stand in our faith and do that which we know is right? Especially when the person or persons committing the crime or injustice is a authority figure, ergo... Policemen, City Council Members, Judges, Congressmen, Pastors or The Pope.

   Aren't we setting these people up as our new gods? Aren't we granting them the authority and the respectful fear that only the one True God deserves?
